Engineering Tech

Office: Tegra Medical - Franklin
Location: MA

Tegra Medical is seeking an Engineering Tech to join our Franklin,MA facility.

The Engineering Tech assists Program Managers and Process Development Engineers in developing processes to manufacture medical device products while ensuring that quality and costs requirements are met. Assist in troubleshooting problems with production and take corrective actions. May work with customers to provide manufacturing direction and meet their quality and on-time delivery expectations.

Role and Responsibilities

  • Process Development
    • Assist in process development methods for a variety of manufacturing projects (inspection methods, process applications and workflow).
    • Perform needed operations for GTC jobs as needed.
      • Cleaning, inspection, sorting, special packaging, etc.
    • Document process notes as needed.

  • Job Tracking
    • Track order status of GTC jobs, locate multiple component job travelers throughout the facility; help facilitate needed speed of projects.
    • Report job status to PDE/PM’s daily.
    • Report needed job traveler updates or anomalies to PDE/PM, aid in facilitating rapid updates as needed.

  • Documentation
    • Assist in GTC documentation activities.
      • Create Work Instructions.
        • Generate, monitor and modify as needed.
      • Assist in inspection report documentation updates.

  • Device History Records
    • Review DHR’s at point of shipment to insure all documentation is in place (e.g. material certs, inspection records, quotes, PO’s and job router sign offs).
    • Make copies of needed material certs and special documentation per customer requests.
    • Ensure that special requests have been documented accordingly in the DHR and ensure that if these request are long term, that they are also input into Job Boss for future reference (Master Templates).

  • Customer Care
    • Sit in on customer phone calls as an introduction to how the GTC engineering staff manages customer needs, and how the GTC engages the customer.
      • The GTC Engineering Tech would act as a “note taker” to the calls upon request. This is critical learning opportunity for a new engineer and a helpful tool for the PDE/PM’s.
      • Assist in managing job due dates for the PM team.
        • Attend daily GTC engineering meetings.
        • Monitor due dates on daily job list.
        • Help PM team keep a daily log of activities, dates and commitments.

Qualifications and Education Requirements

  • Experience in a small device manufacturing environment.
  • High mechanical aptitude is required.
  • Must be able to work with minimal guidance and have good analytical and problem solving skills.
  • Must be a self-motivated, hands-on individual with a strong sense of urgency and passion for the customer.
  • Must have the ability to react quickly to changing requirements and new processing developments as well as have a keen interest in quickly learning and applying new skills. Excellent written and verbal communication skills are required.
  • A.S. Degree in Engineering preferred.
  • Experience with CAD Systems, Microsoft Project and other relevant software systems a plus.
