Quality Inspector II

Job Summary

The Quality Inspector II performs quality control inspections and testing of incoming raw materials, in-process materials, and finished goods. This also includes any inspections required in support of validation activities.

Role and Responsibilities

  • Organize, collect, and analyze quality data to ensure that product meets customer expectations.
  • Perform inspections of raw materials, in-process manufacturing and final product release including visual inspection, functional testing and dimensional testing.
  • Follow specific internal and customer specifications to determine product conformance.
  • Complete inspection reports and product traveler as required.
  • Keep track of quantities and scrap codes and enter data into MRP system as applicable.
  • Provide feedback to supervisors and engineering on visual defects found.
  • Provide direct assistance to quality engineers for validation and first article inspection.
  • Act as a trainer/mentor for Quality Inspector I and Quality Inspector II.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Level of Skill, Education and Experience

  • Communication skills verbal and written required.
  • Experience in medical device manufacturing preferred.
  • 3-5 years experience in quality control is required.
  • Must be able to interpret part drawing and blueprints and possess a high level of knowledge with dimensional.
  • Must have experience with inspection equipment including but not limited to optical comparator, micrometer, caliper, gage pins, vision system, profilometers, etc.
  • Must be able to work with minimal supervision and follow written instruction and schedules.
  • Must be detail oriented, focused and organized.
  • Must always maintain work areas in a safe and orderly condition.
  • Must comply with all applicable safety procedures.
  • Ability to prepare routine reports such as in-process inspection reports, incoming inspection reports, final inspection reports and others as required.
  • High School/GED diploma required
